William G. Ayoub

William “Billy” Ayoub, born in Fall River, Massachusetts on May 5, 1936, passed away peacefully in Charlton Memorial Hospital on March 9, 2025 after many courageously fought illnesses, surrounded by his loving family. Born to the late George and Rose Ayoub (Saab), Billy was a man’s man. He loved to celebrate life and everything about it and was always seen with a smile on his face. He especially loved his devoted family.
Billy leaves his devoted wife of over 64 years, Dawn Ayoub and was the brother of the late Soroya Farrah of Florida, Lorraine Sousa of Bristol, RI, Terry Levesque of Westport, MA., Rochelle Tolley and her husband Raymond of Tiverton, RI, and one sister in law, Beverly Rego of Fall River, MA. He also leaves his beloved daughters Lisa Chouinard of Swansea and her husband Rick, along with Sharon Andrews of Seekonk and her husband Kevin. Billy loved being a Giddo to his beautiful grandchildren, all of which were his favorite. He cherished time spent with each of them: Ali Gossy and her husband Andrew of Barrington, Aaron Chouinard and girlfriend Chrissy DiDonato of Johnston, RI, Ryan, Marissa and Diana Carney, all of Seekonk Mass, Billy also leaves behind one beloved great grandson, Declan William Gossy of Barrington. In addition to his immediate family, Billy also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Everyone who had the chance to know Billy couldn’t help but love him and be inspired by his positive outlook on life, the way he handled his illnesses with humor and positivity and his deep devotion to his faith. His family is also grateful to the many medical professionals who treated Billy over the years.
A 1954 graduate of BMC Durfee High School in Fall River Mass, Billy was a truck driver by trade for decades and loved driving trucks, spraying asphalt and working on roads until finally retiring in 2014. He was a master of his trade and was well respected and loved by his co-workers and bosses. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union, local 251. A faith filled, family man, Billy was loved by all who met him, even the doctors and nurses he met through his many illnesses. Billy courageously fought and beat cancer 4 times and was proud to be a survivor. A lifelong member of St. Anthony of the Desert Maronite Catholic Church in Fall River, Mass, Billy began as an altar boy and later sang in the church choir for most of his life. Billy was a member of the St. Joseph’s Men’s Society and a previous member of the Order of St. Sharbel. Billy loved to sing and would randomly sing songs that he knew and loved. Billy loved everything about Lebanese culture, especially the food and the beautiful Maronite Mass. Billy loved fishing, traveling to Florida with beloved wife, Dawn and going to the casino.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend A Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10am at St. Anthony of the Desert Church at 300 North Eastern Avenue in Fall River, Mass., followed by interment at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River, Mass. Calling hours will be Saturday March 15th from 8am – 10am at St. Anthony of the Desert Church at 300 North Eastern Avenue, Fall River, MA.
